The SADC de la Haute-Côte-Nord, the MRC La Haute-Côte-Nord and the Services Québec offices of Forestville and Les Escoumins are proud to invite all entrepreneurs of La Haute-Côte-Nord and surrounding areas, current or future, to the Entreprendre en région colloquium , which will take place on April 29 at the municipal building of Portneuf-sur-Mer, under the honorary presidency of Mr. Patrice Jean.

A committed entrepreneur and experienced manager, Mr. Jean was co-owner of the Jacques Beaulieu Sawmill, the Oasis des Pionniers, and the Drakkar in Baie-Comeau. With over forty years of experience in financial management for large companies such as Kruger, Coquillages Nordiques, and Crabiers du Nord, he now mentors entrepreneurs, driven by a desire to contribute to the vitality of his region.

An excellent opportunity for entrepreneurial networking, the "Entreprendre en région" (Entrepreneurship in the Regions) colloquium promotes access to knowledge tailored to the needs of businesses. The training content will equip entrepreneurs with better tools for managing daily operations and developing new business opportunities.

A selection of formations on topics as varied as human resource management (HRM), finance, marketing, and innovation is offered to participants. This year, the courses will cover: best practices in cybersecurity; self-determination theory applied to HRM; creating professional visuals with Canva; and from balance sheet to financial health assessment. After dinner, local entrepreneurs will participate in a panel discussion where they will share their experiences with the participants.

A dinner-conference open to the public will conclude the colloquium in the Reception Hall, featuring Hugo Girard, television host, former international strength athlete, entrepreneur, and spokesperson for several companies. A proud native of Portneuf-sur-Mer, Hugo Girard aims to help people realize their full potential. According to him, the only limits are those we impose on ourselves. Through his experience as a strongman and his career as an international professional athlete, this motivational speaker demonstrates that success depends on oneself and one's own will to act.
